CAAL Ignite is the Coalition of Asian American Leaders’ signature grant program, powered by visionary supporters like McKenzie Scott. With over $350,000 committed for 2024–25, we’re investing in bold ideas that combat anti-Asian hate, strengthen economic power, and cultivate the next generation of community leaders.

What we fund

We believe every vision deserves a chance. CAAL Ignite will award 20 grants across three categories:

Small Businesses

For entrepreneurs launching or expanding ventures that strengthen Asian American economic vitality.

Nonprofits & Community Organizations

For organizations scaling existing programs or piloting new services that address community priorities.

Individuals & Fellows

For changemakers—from emerging leaders to student fellows—pursuing projects, research, or experiences that uplift our community.

A concise summary of your initiative—its goals, target audience, and community impact.

Budget & Resource Plan

An itemized breakdown of how you’ll use the grant funds alongside any in-kind or matching resources.

Financial Documentation (if applicable

Past year’s financial statements or audited reports for businesses and nonprofits to demonstrate viability.

Letter of Support

A one-page endorsement from a community partner, mentor, or board member who can speak to your project’s promise.
