To us, leadership is not positional. That’s why we do our work based on the premise that people are already leaders when they enter our spaces. Our job at CAAL is to find ways to uplift and elevate leaders, to value the whole leader, and to help leaders achieve the good that they want to do in the world. For Young Leaders – Becoming Organizers, Becoming Advocates (BOBA)

Becoming Organizers, Becoming Advocates (BOBA), is CAAL’s Asian Minnesotan youth leadership program co-created with young people. BOBA offers a safe space for Asian Minnesotan youth to come together to discover how their identity and leadership make them a powerful force for change. Through BOBA, young leaders explore topics and issues that impact them and their communities, learn advocacy and organizing skills, and create solutions that they can take action on to create change.

For all CAAL Leaders — Making Our Voices Effective for Equity (MOVEE)

CAAL Leaders MOVEE (Making Our Voices Effective for Equity) is a leadership program aimed at supporting, developing, and sustaining Asian Minnesotan social justice movement leaders. MOVEE offers leaders intentional space for deep self-reflection, growing each leader’s roots, and strengthening the leader’s social network so that they can sustain themselves as they work for justice, equity, and prosperity.

For Social Justice Leaders — Education & Cross-Racial Solidarity (ERS)

The Educational & Cross-Racial Solidarity (ERS) collective is a five-month program which focuses on building parent leadership skills to help build organizing power, reimage the education system, and taking action on issues that come up throughout the school year.
