Network Weaving

Intentionally connecting for transformative change.

In CAAL, network weaving is central to our work. It is both an approach and an area of work. Through using Network Weaving frameworks and practices, we create and facilitate spaces for people relate to each other more deeply; we welcome the whole identity of leaders; and, we create a sort of web of support that allows leaders within the network to learn, connect, and act.

CelebrAsian

Asian Minnesotans are contributing everyday. Throughout the year, we host CelebrAsian events to uplift the contributions and accomplishments of Asian Minnesotan leaders who are doing great things for their communities or industries. We uplift these leaders and their accomplishments because we know Asian Minnesotan leaders are making a difference everyday in every sector and issue. In the past we’ve celebrated entrepreneurs, elders, young leaders, and private and nonprofit executives.

PowerTalk

Leaders are lifelong learners. Since our founding, we’ve hosted CAAL PowerTalks to highlight timely topics that are impacting Asian Minnesotans. We feature research, stories, and solutions that are being tried, and consider how it impacts Asian Minnesotans. We then engage participants so that participants can consider how they will take the information back to their work and/or communities.

State of Asian Minnesotans

Given this moment – where Asian Minnesotans have become one of the fastest growing racial group in the state; are composed of over 40+ ethnic groups whose immigrant paths are varied; and, are facing new and old challenges that stand in the way of true community prosperity – we believe we can and must do more to learn more about the state of the community.

The State of Asian Minnesotans Series aims to deepen our collective understanding of this growing and important population, and push us all to consider what building powerful communities that truly help to shape our democracy can look like. Read our briefs on previous sessions.

Stronger Together Fund

One of our core values at CAAL is our belief that we are more powerful together, and solidarity across our diverse communities is necessary to advance social justice and ensure that every person thrives.  That’s why in this COVID-19 crisis, we have not just been focused on our own organizational survival, but we are investing even more in our overall eco-system of Asian Minnesotan organizations. We must all get through this pandemic together. 

CAAL’s Stronger Together Fund aims to support Asian Minnesotan organizations who are supporting the most vulnerable segments of our community at this time. Learn more!

Special Events

We host special events from time to time to respond to the interest of our leaders, and are open to co-hosting events with allies who wish to connect with our CAAL Network.
