CAAL Happy Hour

This CelebrAsian gave our collective nod to some of our CAAL Leaders who’ve been doing great things. At this CelebrAsian, we honored Kaohly Her, Nicholas Kor, Kathy Mouacheupao and ThaoMee Xiong! During the time, they all had significant promotions and achievements that we know will benefit all Asian Minnesotans and beyond.

We cheered to the milestones that are shaping Minnesota!

Kaohly Her has over 20 years of leadership experience in both the private and public sectors. She has a wide breadth of experience spanning financial services and business consulting to education administration. She currently serves as the Policy Director for Mayor Melvin Carter in the City of Saint Paul. She’s also running for a MN House seat to represent district 64A.

Nicholas Kor is a recipient of the 2018 Bush Fellowship. Bush Fellows receive up to $100,000 to pursue the education and experiences they need to become more effective leaders. Nicholas Kor believes that organizing can change the world.

Kathy Mouacheupao became the Executive Director for the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council (MRAC) in Saint Paul, MN and is most energized at the intersection of art, culture and community. In this position, Kathy will be working with the MN State Arts Board and other Regional Arts Councils to increase arts access for all in the state of Minnesota.

ThaoMee Xiong is an experienced legal and legislative advocate, public policy researcher and community organizer. She has worked on issues related to health equity, economic development, immigration, refugee resettlement, domestic violence, and affordable housing. She was named the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for Mayor Melvin Carter earlier this year.
